The University

Belgorod State University (also called Belgorod State National Research University or Belgorod National Research University) was established in 1876 in the Belgorod city of Russia. The University has preserved its more than century-old memories and decades of perseverance, progress, and success stories in its in-built museums on the campus.  

Presently, the University has about 23,000 students from different regions of Russia and about 3,000 students from more than 90 countries. Every year, more than 5,000 medical students graduate from the University.

Belgorod State University has developed a giant infrastructure to deliver quality medical education and training in a modern setting. The Library of Belgorod State University has ten reading halls and more than a million books. In the computer lab, there are about 4,000 computers installed across 72 computer classrooms.  

To promote research initiatives among its students, the University has established research centers on the campus across multiple disciplines. The University has five international research laboratories and invites international students and professors for collaborative research projects. In recognition of its contribution to medical innovation and research, Belgorod State University was granted the status of National Research University in 2010.

For international cooperation and the creation of global opportunities for its students, the University has collaboration with more than 160 institutions. Due to its focus on quality education and research and friendly cooperation with international students, Belgorod State University is called the regional center for science, education, and culture.

For the practical training of the students, the University has associations with leading hospitals and medical units in Russia. During clinical training, students are involved in patient care and get the opportunity to observe medical care activities undertaken by experienced doctors. It offers hands-on experience to the students and prepares them for the practice of medicine right after their medical graduation.

Belgorod State University is one of the top-ranked medical universities, not only in Russia but in the world. In 2014, the University secured 151st rank in the list of QS BRICS University Rankings and 37th rank in INTERFAX Group National Universities Ranking. In 2015, Belgorod State University was ranked among the top 150 universities in the list of QS Europe and Central Asia University Rankings. Until now, Belgorod State University has consistently secured prominent positions in other world rankings as well.  As per the Russian Ministry of Education, Belgorod State University is one of the top 20 universities in Russia.

Belgorod State University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), United States of America. Belgorod State University is also approved by the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) and the Medical Council of India (MCI). The University offers a 6-Year Program for MBBS in Russia for local as well as international medical aspirants. Students in India, who have qualified NEET, can apply for direct admission to the MBBS Program of Belgorod State University.

Student Life

Besides all the perks of living in Russia, Belgorod State University offers an interesting, healthy, and growth-oriented lifestyle for its students. Student Union 

To facilitate safe, comfortable, and affordable stay for its students, the University maintains seven residential buildings largest of which has a bed capacity for 6,000 students. A dormitory room is shared by two or three students. The hostel facilities are well-equipped with Wi-Fi, shared kitchens, and laundry rooms.  

The University campus also has gardens, parks, and meadows where students can enjoy the greenery, clean air, fresh atmosphere, and psychological recreation. To ensure delivery of quality food for students, the University runs its inhouse mess and catering service.

For better health and fitness of the students, there is a fitness center, a gym, and other sports facilities, including a tennis court, football, basketball, and volleyball fields, and a chess club. For the recreational activities of the students, the University has a recreational and a sports complex where students can play, relax, and rejuvenate. At the center of the complex is a multifunctional game hall with seating arrangements for 700 visitors.

Belgorod State University maintains a good level of social activity, including health awareness programs, childcare, blood donation drives, etc. For the organization of events, there is a giant lounge where students gather to relax and daily chit-chat. For the summer holidays, the University organizes well-planned activities to make the best use of two months of vacation. 

Students' health and medical requirements are taken care of by the University Healthcare Center. All students are treated at this center. Also, a periodic medical examination of the students is done at this center.

University’s Youth Cultural Center, which is divided into 17 student clubs, keeps organizing recreational and extracurricular activities and events and represents a microcosm of different passions, arts, and cultures. In total, every year, more than 400 activities are organized by the Youth Cultural Center, including dance, designs, drama, and arts. 

On off-days and weekends, students can also go out to explore the beautiful city of Belgorod and enjoy the city’s theatres, museums, historic buildings, or street festivals.
