The University

Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University is one of the leading medical universities in Russia founded in 1897 as “Medical Institute for Women” in the city of Saint Petersburg. The University claims to be the first Russian Medical Institute for Women. Until 1916, male medical aspirants were not admitted to the University! 

Over the years, the University has immensely contributed to the improvement of education for girls and women in Russia, patient care, medical education, and innovation in healthcare.

Among other medical programs offered by the University, 6-Year General Medicine Program—popularly called MBBS— is one of the most sought after courses.
