The University

Established in 1960 in Moscow city of Russia, People's Friendship University is one of the best universities in Russia. The University got its present name in 1992 when it was renamed so from its previous name Rossiysky Universitet Druzhby Narodov (RUDN). 

The University celebrated its first graduation ceremony in 1965, with 228 graduates from 47 countries. Since its inception, the University has been focused on delivering quality education and is constantly included in the list of top universities worldwide. 

The University facilitates communication without barriers by facilitating educational programs in 12 different languages. For the past decades of its operation, People's Friendship University has been a popular destination for higher education and training for students from countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. To that effect, the University was honored with the Order of Friendship of Peoples in 1975 for its contribution to strengthening international cooperation and friendship.

In 2010, the University was awarded the UNESCO Gold Medal for its immense contribution to the progress of developing countries by providing training to their personnel. 

In 2016, People's Friendship University became the first university in Russia to get five stars rating from QS Stars in 5 categories: quality of education, internationalization, infrastructure, innovation, and social environment. 

Institute of Medicine of People's Friendship University offers international-standard medical programs with quality medical education, research, and training.

For its research initiatives and to involve students in research, the University has 200 hi-tech laboratories. To encourage shared learning, the University has collaborations with over 250 educational institutions located in different countries of the world. For professional networking and global exposure, students are provided with the opportunity to participate in international seminars, conferences, and get training in other institutions through student exchange programs.

Library of People's Friendship University is one of the largest in Russia and has its own printing house with a printing fund of 2 million copies. Currently, it has a readership of about 40,000 students.

Students are provided Pre-Clinical Training in Simulation Training Center. For the clinical training, students are provided internship in University clinics and Moscow city clinical hospitals.

Presently, students from more than 155 countries study at People's Friendship University, while its alumni are working in more than 170 countries worldwide. The University also organizes Student Mobility Programs to provide internship opportunities to students and help them build connections with prospective employers. 

People's Friendship University is also a part of the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100, an initiative of the Russian Government to strengthen the position of Russian Universities on the world stage.

To facilitate an easy transition for international students, the University organizes a Pre-University training program to help students learn Russian, make them familiar with Moscow city, and help them adapt to the new society and culture.

People's Friendship University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and also certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), United States of America. People's Friendship University is also approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Medical Council of Canada (MCC). The University offers a 6-Year program for MBBS in Russia for local as well as international students. Students in India who have qualified NEET can apply for direct admission to the MBBS Program of People's Friendship University.

People’s Friendship University offers a 6-Year MBBS Program in the Russian language. For international students, classes for initial years may be organized in English medium.

Rus Education is duly authorized by the Russian Centre for Science and Culture (Cultural Department of The Embassy of the Russian Federation in India) to promote Russian Education among Indian Citizens. Rus Education is also an authorized associate of People’s Friendship University. We facilitate one-window admission to the MBBS Program of People’s Friendship University with no requirement of any donation or capitation and without any entrance examination.

Student Life

Recognized as the most “green” university in the Russian Federation, People's Friendship University offers an exciting and fulfilling living experience for its students. University’s Campus is situated in one of the most beautiful and clean locations of Moscow and called “City in the city” due to its grand size. 

To provide students with affordable and convenient accommodation, the University maintains 13 dormitories as part of its campus. Each room is designed to accommodate two or three students. More than 8,000 students live in the University-managed hostels and enjoy facilities required for daily student life, including kitchen, laundry, and Wi-Fi internet connection.  

For the safety of the students, the university has the Center for Comprehensive Maintenance of Law and Order with a large staff of security personnel. In the Campus, there is a police station as well, which is dedicated to maintaining student safety in the entire University area.

Build on the foundation of freedom of education, friendship, and mutual support; the University embraces a culture of diversity and cooperation. Living in the global community of People's Friendship University provides the privilege to interact with people of over 150 nationalities under one roof, make new friends, and foster global connections that last a lifetime.

International Culture Center of the University organizes cultural activities for the students where they can enjoy and learn music, dance, acting, traditions, and art of different countries. Besides festivals, the birthday of students and other members, the University celebrates its own birthday (February 5) every year on the first Friday of February.

The University encourages students to join sports activities in the Sports Center on the campus to stay fit and active. In the Sports Center, there are facilities to play tennis, football, volleyball, basketball, martial arts, rugby, badminton, arm-wrestling, etc. At People's Friendship University, sport is a way of life. Students can also join the gym to add exercise to their daily routine.

To contribute to social upliftment and to involve students in the community, volunteer initiatives are organized, including medical care camps, clean drives, waste management activities, etc. These activities connect students to the real society and plant seeds of deep empathy.  

For the healthcare of the students, the University has a Medical Center where students can get medical care whenever required. To help students learn driving, the University also operates a Driving School. 

The University aims to make its medical students not only world-class doctors but also leaders with the ability and courage to deal with global issues and find solutions. 

In Moscow, students can also explore its cultural heritage, museums, historic buildings, the world-famous Alexander Garden, and much more. For traveling in Moscow, students don’t face any problems, thanks to its convenient and cheap transportation system, especially the Moscow Metro.
